The summer leaning Journey

 This Christmas holidays We can do this thing called the summer Learning Journey. The summer leaning journey is a website/app that you can read books on to keep up with your leaning. The website has heaps of games... There are lots of thing you can do. Are you doing The summer leaning Journey ?. I am most proud of being able to learn In the big holidays because when is go back to school i might not no how to read. I found most challenging was when i turned my computer i had to go back on and sign in again. Have fun reading in the holidays.

Lockdown Writing 3

 On Friday 19 August. It was Friday. You know what that means do absolute nothing apart from watching YouTube. I woke up at 8:45. And when i woke up i didn't even know what day it was. And i went on my chrome book and checked the date and it WAS FRIDAY!!. I tried to find my keyboard. And i sadly couldn't find it so i just gave up. And later found it it was under the couch. (classic under the couch trick). I was like why am i writing in capitals turns out i pressed caps lock on my keyboard. Then i had my cereal (why didn't i have it when i woke up). When i was running down the hall way i hit my pinky toe on the hall way door(anything but the pinky toe). My cats were meowing and meowing for food. So i gave them their own breakfast. And i went outside and played with my Cricket ball. and it went over the fence then i got board and went back in side and i went and done some Maths-whizz. and got only 1 progression 1 are you kidding me. Then it was the ultimate battle. Bob the puppet VS daJeff3000. The second one won. And i ate chips'n dip. it was 3 o'clock okay jeez.

Lockdown writing 2

On Wednesday 18th August it was the 2nd day of lock down and i was quite board but i was on a google meet with my friends. And played shell shockers with my friend Lucas Madden Toby and Zephyr, it was really fun i was eating salt and vinegar chips. And i also had a really salty mouth. So i got a drink of water then my mum went to the supermarket and she go some  Kit-kats and i ate them. i was watching YouTube. Then it was Time to hop off. And i had noodles for dinner. And it was good. And done some maths whizz and i got 2 progressions. And i watched Alvin and the chipmunks. The first one when i finished the movie 

it was 7 o'clock. and at 9 i went to bed and read a book. When i woke up it was 9 o'clock and i went on my chrome book and went on one of my Google slides and waited util my friends went on my google meet so we could play games and they arrived 25 minutes later. between the 25 minutes i was watching Alvin and the chipmunks. (I just count stop watching it). And then my new gaming keyboard and mouse came I loved my mouse because it looked like a Transformer. My keyboard was epic. But i didn't know ho to turn the lights on underneath the keys. So my dad got me a new one that lit up. But little did i know that i did i put it into my dads computer and it worked i was like why didn't i go through and pressed every button but when i tried it on my computer because i had a chrome book it didn't work. So it was worth it buying the $34 dollar new keyboard from dick smith.          

Lockdown

 On midnight Tuesday 17th NZ went into lockdown and I was like yay I get to stay home with family  and people had 48 hours to get to home if they were in Christchurch or overseas. And I was annoyed that nothing was open  because I can't get lollies but the discounter was open but my mum didn't have any money on her and I was moaning and I was on a bike ride and I also wanted water. When I got home me and dad played cricket and I hit one over the fence but there was one in the chicken coop and I couldn't reach it so my dad got a rake. And we got it so we played and I was better when I hit the ball over the fence. So I let my dad be batter so if I was better I wouldn't hit it over the fence. And my dad was good at batting until I got him out. Then it was 6 o'clock and it was time for dinner and I had corned beef, mashed potatoes, carrots and peas. And me and mum and dad watched Drillbit Taylor (It's a movie) The movie was about a group of nerds that were bullied pretty much every day. So he hired a bodyguard that did pretty much nothing and he was getting played by the boys(What a scam) but he came in handy once Drillbit was homeless and he joked around how he saved a US president… Anyway, I was on a google meet with my friends.

The next day my dad was an essential worker so he went to work only until 10am.  Then on the weekend he mowed the lawns and cut the flax with his fish knife while he was doing that i was playing with my rugby ball nad i kick on me really high and i went inside because the back of my leg was very sore so i watched Alvin and the chipmunks chip wrecked.      

Olympic Learning

In reading we have been leaning about the Olympics. I've learnt that the Olympics started 2,700 years ago. And they started with 8 sports and now there's like 20 sports now. You might have not known but the Olympics was done in the caesium. They could of made a Stadium in Greece so the didn't have to go all that way. And there were no women allowed because they used to do the Olympics with no clothes. We have done the Olympics for our subject because the Olympics. have you done the Olympics for your reading subject? And we have been doing a persuasive writing weather the Olympics should be on or not. The books that we have been reading are Tom's Tryathalon  and the Iron Tamariki. I have learnt this week more about the Olympics. and we were doing it because it would be fun while the Olympics was on. First i went on to my leaning site and went into my reading and i scowled down and i found a link by photo that said Reading tasked and then i went into file and then i made a copy and then i done the tasks.

Flax basket

The other day we made flax basket for are sausage sizzle we needed to do weaving. The pattern that we needed to do it in was under over, over under. And then my partner forgot how to do it. So we put it to the side and after lunch we started to work on it and all i needed to do was the ends and the handle. And I done the ends alright but I tried to do the handle by myself but i messed up so i got help and I finished.

Matariki art blog post

The other day we started to stuff about Matariki and then we done art work. This is a photo first we got our Chromebooks out and searched up mountain ridgeline and copied of it. and we also with the stars we had to put them in there pattern. because they had to be right. An the next day we got the Pastel's  out and traced around the ridgeline and smudged it up. have you done a Matatriki art before?  

    

Skateboard

Today we saw the biggest skate board. It was 18 times bigger than a normal one. There were people that brought the skate board.There were pro skaters there names were Mat James and Beaumont. They were he to promote skate boarding for the Olympics. We went under the skateboard. And then we asked them questions and we would get a hat from the skaters. And after we ran back to class. Have you seen it?

coast to coat fact

The Coast to Coast is a event that took part in Kumara it is a little town on the way on the way to Greymouth in the South island. It started the Kumara and it ended at Christchurch. the photo that you can see here is the count down. the count down is for the next Coast to Coast in 2022.  

athletics

 We did athletics at the Westland high school. to get there we went on the bus we stared at high jump and my highest was 87 cm. and we had 3 goes. If we had more than 3 goes he would sit down and have a brake and have some food. and the highest was 102 cm. When we finished the high jump  we went to shot put and I was not sure what the highest score was.

onomatopoeia art work

 

This is my onomatopeia art work. We done it with the primary colours red yellow and blue.  The letters were done by tracing around some letters and then cut out. Our teacher cut out the middle of the letters. Next we cut a bit of news paper i done zigzag lines,  then got a big peace of paper. We could pick blue yellow red four our big peace of paper. I chose red and the next day we traced around it with paint.  We could traced red yellow and blue. And then we glued our letters on and then we got our photo taken.

student led conference blog post

 We are doing are student led Conference it is about our goals. and we are going to show our mums and dads my goal is writing. have you done a student led conference.

Chrome Book Pet

 

 This is a chrome book Pet we are doing this because of the Kawa of Care. The Kawa of Care is about looking after your Chrome book. looking after a pet is very important  looking after a Chrome book is the same.

You need to feed your Chrome book by charging your Chrome book.  How we did it first we got some photos off google explore and i chose a blue background then I got a key board then I got a photo of a computer then I got a pc I was using that for a heartdrive.  My pet was a gold fish I used a gold fish because i like the look of them.
